Imagine your – rather adventurous – arrival and life on a small island in the middle of the sea. You have come there to help the island community tackling a number of challenges and transition towards more sustainable strategies and actions taking into account environmental and social aspects.Persons with different profiles are at your side to advise you, in case of need, based on their experience and views…
This is the scenario behind the “videogame for competent adventurers”.
During a project meeting held on 3 March 2021 UNIR, Universidad Internacional de la Rioja, presented the demo of the game to COMPETE project partners.
The game is designed to encourage the development of soft skills of students and graduates in order to improve their employability prospects. More specifically, it focuses on three soft skills: stress tolerance, problem solving and communication. It also includes elements related to team working, emotional intelligence and creativity.
The game was developed and soft skills were selected based on:
- a research on soft skills for employability, realized by Vives University College through a survey addressed to students and graduates as well as through interviews with employers from different sectors;
- a study on gamification and serious gaming for education and training, carried out by SCS Consulting.
The 1.0 version of the game, fully playable, is expected to be presented by May. The final version will be realized by June 2021.
